Snow Fun with Nanna and Gramps

We had such a fun day on Saturday. Derik's parents invited me and the girls out to their house to play in the snow and go out to lunch to Olive Garden. We had such a great time! First we went out on the deck and built a little snowman and Nanna helped us Decorate it with a green wig, a baseball cap, and some funny glasses with a big nose and bushy eyebrows! Adelyn and Aliya thought it was really funny. Then, Gramps hooked the sled up to the little tractor and pulled the girls up and down the street. They were in heaven. The first thing Addy asked the next day was if we could go do it again! Thanks Nanna and Gramps for taking care of us this weekend! WE LOVE YOU!

Good Buddy Joe

This is our neighbor, Joe. Addy just adores Joe. he and our other neighbor Dalton are Addy's best friends. Joe came to play and I thought that this was a fun little moment. They came upstairs to play and Joe said "We are playing Indiana Jones. I am Indi and Addy is my love!" SOOOOO CUTE!

Happy Birthday Gramps

We had an opportunity to help Derik's Dad celebrate his birthday this month and the girls thought that blowing out the candle was great! Especially because Nanna put a trick candle on the cake that would keep lighting back up after you blow it out. We all laughed at them blowing the candle out over and over!

Happy 2009!

For New Year's Eve we had small gathering with my sister's family and some friends, the McCammens. It was really a lot of fun and just the perfect amount of people to play games and be crazy. We played the game Curses. In this game you are given a curse that you are to do throughout the rest of the game. One of the Curses was that every time a bell in the game chimed you had to confess your undying love for the person sitting next to you. Our good buddy Bill got that curse and was hilarious! In the last picture he is trying to sit on Derik's lap and tell him that he loves him. (Sorry guys I had to post it!)

Late Christmas Photos

We have a lot more photos than this, but it would be boring to watch every present being opened. I really like the pictures of Aliya with her two hands in two different bags of candy, and of the girls in their rocking chairs. They got those chairs from Nanna and Gramps and just love to watch movies in them!

Our Own Winter Wonderland!

It has been snowing on and off for the last 15 hours now and should continue for the next four days. It think that winter is going to stay for a while this time. Adelyn saw the snow and said "IT CAME BACK...THE SNOW CAME BACK!!!!" She was so excited for the return of snow.

Kids Say the Darndest Things!

Adelyn plays hide and seek and when she is ready she will yell "come found me MAMA I in the Chair!"

When Adelyn wants her sippy cup filled she will say "I need the sippy at the top of the Mountain"

When I asked Adelyn to do something she doesn't want to do do she says "I can't want to MAMA"

6/10/08 It was Derik's Birthday and we were taking him his birthday ballon. It was a really mindy day and the wind took the ballon right out of the car and Adelyn was really upset. Later that day she saw an airplane and the light just went on she said "we can get the balloon, mommy. Daddy can get in the airplane and go get the balloon!"

6/27/08 We were looking for a little toy of Adelyn's that we left in the car and I could not find it. She immediately told me that "Daddy can find it he has really big eyes!"

6/08 Anytime something breaks Adelyn tells me "it is okay daddy can fix it!" she loves her daddy!

6/30/08 After a long day with my two great girls I thought that I might srangle Adelyn and her constant demands. I was running upstairs for the 100th time and as I came back down Adelyn yelled "lookin good mama!" i don't know who she heard this from but it made me laugh and remember why I love to be a mommy!

9/29/08 I was showing Adleyn a picture of Derik and I when we graduated with our bachlors degrees. I was seven months pregnant with her and was showing her that she was in my belly. She being very smart said "and Aliya is in Daddy's belly!" LOVE IT!!

10/03/08 We often go out to the bus stop to send our neighbor girl off to school. Adelyn really wants to ride the bus and I told her that she will have to grow bigger. She now tells everyone that she is "going to grow big as a bus!!!"

11/08 My Sister-in-Law has been trying to get pregnant for about five years now and just found out that she finally is!! Anyway when she told us we were hopping up and down and making a big deal about it. Aldeyn went to preschool the next monday and they were talking about what they were thankful for and Addy said "I thankful that my Mom is going to have a baby!" We had to have a talk about who was really having the baby... it was really funny!

3-08-10 Adelyn asked me today if Giraffe's die. I told her yes, everything dies eventually. She said "do people die too?" Yes they do. "I don't want to die!" You won't until your really old. "Are you going to die before me" Most likely. "Where will I live then" She was starting to get upset at this whole concept. We had a big long talk about death and I tried to ease her fears...it is hard to explain complex things to kids!
